Pride of Indiana: Thank-you messages to and from IU employees
Aug. 31, 2016
Pride of Indiana is a regular feature in Inside IU that allows IU faculty and staff to recognize their colleagues for IU-related work they’ve done that goes above and beyond their job duties or responsibilities.
Submit a Pride of Indiana shout-out for someone you know.
Thank you to the following IU employees:
Janis Fox, of the Indiana Geological Survey, whose nominator wrote: "Janis is a shining example of an employee who works hard, goes above and beyond with customers and is loyal to IU with 25+ years of service. Indiana can be Proud of Janis Fox and her work ethic! I wish I had 10 more just like her!"
Stacy Boicourt, of VPCPF Support Resources, whose nominator wrote: "Stacy you are a rock star!"
Linda Johnson, of The Media School, whose nominator wrote: "Linda Johnson's expertise, professionalism and dedication to the High School Journalism Institute is unsurpassed. Her primary role is to provide administrative support for our summer workshop program, but she does much more. Because she has so much institutional knowledge and because she's so personable, she is beloved by HSJI faculty and staff. HSJI is only 50 percent of her job responsibilities, though. She also works with the Media School Communications Team, where she is also highly prized and respected. Indiana University is extremely fortunate to have Linda Johnson on staff."
Vicky Lewis, of the School of Education, whose nominator wrote: "What would we do without Vicky? She's the point of contact for anything in our department. If I have a question, I know I can approach Vicky and she will do everything in her power to find a solution (which often means she's jumping through 100's of hoops) and implement that solution before you have the opportunity to ask her about it. She is the definition of kindness. We are beyond blessed to have her in our department. Thank you for all you do, Vicky!"
Denise Wyatt, of the School of Education, whose nominator wrote: "I want to thank Denise for being a positive role model and mentoring me towards my goals for a life long career I have planned here at IU. She is a responsible, hard working, and sedulous employee who sets the perfect example of the ideal director. I couldn't ask for a better supervisor or friend."
Stevem Egyhazi, of Collaboration Technologies, whose nominator wrote: "I'd like to thank Steve for being the best mentor I could ever get and for his continuous support them and even now. It was pleasure working with you."
Ann Sullivan, of the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, whose nominator wrote: "Ann is quick to help anyone who needs anything, including office staff, faculty, and students. She steps in around the office to do whatever it takes to make things run smoothly. She answers questions, provides resources, cleans, provides support, makes suggestions, and more. Much of her work is in the background, but it's very much appreciated. Ann genuinely cares about her co-workers and is always willing to lend a helpful hand. Thank you for all you do for the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health! We appreciate you!"
Marilyn Baker, of the Department of Family Medicine, whose nominator wrote: "I would like to thank Marilyn for her hard work and positive attitude. She is an ideal co-worker to work with and always keeps us laughing. Thank you Marilyn!."
Marj Hopper, of the School of Education, whose nominator wrote: "Marj came to the School of Education over a year ago. She took on the difficult task of scheduling for the school. She is now doing what it took 3 people to do, and does it with humor, grace and precision. She has taken a good deal of stress off the team by managing our difficult schedule so well. We are really so fortunate to have her."
Lyndy Kouns, of the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, whose nominator wrote: "It is time for a thank you! Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with all of us. Thank you for your cheerful attitude and positive outlook. You are the go-to person for many of your co-workers and we appreciate you very much."
Monica Haynes, of University Information Technology Services, whose nominator wrote: "What does Monica Haynes NOT do? Somehow, Monica manages to maintain the IU Southeast website, design new pages and oversee every email campaign that comes from our institution - and she does so with patience and a unfailingly positive, helpful attitude. So much of Monica's job is "behind the scenes," but she is an instrumental gear in keeping the web page machine running."
Doug Kerr, of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, whose nominator wrote: "I'd like to thank Doug Kerr for his quick responsiveness and extreme efficiency whenever I ask for various data points and research. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness serves so many arms of our campus, and Doug's timely and comprehensive information is a testament to how hard of a worker he is!"
