Degrees were awarded to 19,477 graduates at commencement ceremonies at seven Indiana University campuses May 6 to 13.
IU President Michael A. McRobbie presided over the ceremonies, at which a total of 19,907 undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees were presented, with some graduates receiving multiple diplomas.
When you include the nearly 900 IU degrees awarded at the IPFW campus, which is managed by Purdue, the total number of degrees presented to graduates this spring is almost 20,800.
Graduates come from all 92 counties in Indiana; all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia; and 128 countries. Seventy-two percent of graduates are Indiana residents, 57 percent are women, and 27 percent are first-generation college students. Over 400 students are graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
